Letter from James Rigby to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter opens with Rigby providing Owen with an account of the progress he has made with tasks carried out on Owen's behalf.

Reference is made to the recent execution of the murderer William Bousfield, with Rigby asking Owen had he seen how the "Old World" attempted "reform one if its victims", before adding scornfully that "God speed them in their work of Mercy".
