Scope and Content

Manuscript letter which refers to a meeting of the Manchester and Birmingham delegates of the "Operatives in the Building Trades". Carr, as Chairman, and Laverick, as Secretary, write that it was decided to put into practice a plan [to refuse to work on the building of Grammar School in Birmingham until better conditions of work had been secured] which was placed before them by Messrs. Hansom and Welch, and ask Owen to communicate this decision to the "different Lodges in London".
