Letter from William Davison to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Davison requests information regarding to the settlement at New Harmony prior to his proposed emigration there from his native Durham. He enquires as to the current population level and the likelihood of this increasing, the pleasantness of the surrounding area, the friendliness of the inhabitants, the possibility of seeing Owen lecture or helping with such matters and the likelihood of two new arrivals obtaining lodgings straight away.
