Letter from P. B. Randolph to James Rigby

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter refers to Owen's refusal to the request Randolph made to be allowed to speak at the World Convention called by Owen to announce the commencement of the new millennium. randolph recalls that he was promised a chance, along with other American delegates, to speak at the Convention and this having been denied him, asks Rigby to inform Owen of his intention to leave for the United States on the 7th July due to him having "no reason to stay longer".

Randolph asks to meet Owen, as he must do something or be faced with a "fruitless journey of 4000 miles". For him to make such a journey "speaks but little of England's great Reformers".
