Scope and Content

Manuscript letter in which Sommerville says that he is looking forward to the new system of society beginning, a time when Owen will relieve mankind from ignorance and misery. He tells Owen of an incident, where as a tutor he was accused of holding Owen's opinions and was pronounced a 'dangerous character' by the parents of his pupils. He says he has recorded the incident for Owen and that he looks forward to receiving him. He also asks Owen for how long he will remain in London.
