Scope and Content

Manuscript address outlining the object of the Labour Exchange recently removed from Gray's Inn Road, London to Charlotte Street, London. It is noted in the address, that the principal of exchanges was first mentioned by Owen in his report to the County of Lanark in 1821 and is intended they will "relieve the industrious classes from the poverty and degradation in which they have for ages been involved".
