Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Nothing is known about the Bachelors other than that they were a committee of Nottinghamdignitaries who arranged prestigious balls (parties). It is likely that the balls were organised inaid of charity. The minute book in this collection refers to the arrangement of Bachelors balls in1905, 1909, and 1912. It records that plans to organise a ball in 1928 were abandoned. The presidentfor every ball was Lt Col Richard Leslie Birkin.
