Administrative / Biographical History

John Alexander McMullen went to South Africa in 1905 to take charge of a gas-powered electricity generating station in Johannesburg, but the project was a failure and he returned to England in 1906. While in Africa he made a long journey to the British East Africa Protectorate (Kenya).
