Black and white photograph of a design, possibly pencil on paper, leaning up on a white stand [by May Morris]. Only the top right quarter is finished, the rest is very lightly sketched. It is medieval in feel, with flowers and leaves intertwined, growing out from a central rose. The object was held and photographed at the Bodleian Library, Oxford University. The photographs were taken during research by Elizabeth Masterman, for her book on May Morris. The text on the page states 'both could almost equally well be cushions'.
