Letter

Scope and Content

Alexander Werth to W. P. Crozier.

Location: Paris.

He complains about the editing of his article last Wednesday, referring to the paragraph about Herriot, which makes no sense in its truncated form. He explains. Herriot believes war to be imminent, possibly in 1935. He refers to his speech at the Anglo-American press luncheon; it is the talk of Geneva, but the press agreed not to print anything. 'His emotional nature is a serious menace.' His comment on Herriot has not been made in any other newspaper. (Extract from M.G. attached to letter.)
