Scope and Content

Alexander Werth to W. P. Crozier.

Location: Lynedoch Crescent, Glasgow.

He talks of his progress. Cadett has offered him, unofficially, the use of his office, car and messenger in Paris, which should be useful in terms of transmitting news. He explains how he intends to communicate. He has heard that Montague will be going to France as war correspondent and has contacted him for their mutual benefit. He talks of Belgium, as a weak spot, of neutrality and her defences; the French have done much to improve the Maginot Line on the Belgian border, but it may not be sufficient; he can see much of the RAF having to be at the front. He adds that there is too much 'wishful thinking' about Stalin.
