W. P. Crozier to Robert Dell.

Location: [Manchester].

He says that he has instructed Werth to leave at any time if the situation gets too hot. He says he cannot send Voigt to Berlin, because he is afraid he would be murdered.

In terms of reporting on the Terror and the atrocities in Germany, he believes they have published every sentence they have received, except for one. Werth collaborated with the correspondents of The Times, Morning Post and Daily Herald in a message about the Terror. The message was very outspoken and they (Manchester Guardian) decided to publish it. Werth did not want it published unless the other papers did so, in case it was traced back to him. The other papers decided not to, so it did not appear.
