Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Elizabeth Fritsch was born in 1940. She initially pursued a career in music, study the harp at the Birmingham School of Music and then the piano at the Royal Academy of Music 1958-1964. She took up ceramics at the Royal College of Art from 1968-1971 under the tutelage of Hans Coper and Eduardo Paolozzi, and later set up a studio in London in 1985. Fritsch had her first show in 1972, and a major retrospective of her work was held at the National Museum Cardiff in 2010.
