Administrative / Biographical History
This society was a functioning organisation from 1865-1866, an earlier federal union having collapsed fifteen years earlier. The first women members were admitted in 1900, and in 1920 the society combined with the United Garment Workers Trade Union to form the Tailors and Garment Workers Trade Union.
