Scope and Content

Copy letter from Duncan referring to drawings by Paul Williams who hopes to illustrate Esthetique du mal. The Press received a telephone call informing them that a reading of Stevens' poem 'Bethou me, said sparrow' is to be broadcasted on B.B.C. radio. The essay which Stevens' declined to read has been rejected by the Press. In his response: Stevens expresses his desire for Paul Williams to illustrate the poems. Draws comparison to Nicholas Moore's project with illustrations by Lucian Freud; requests more copies of Notes; expresses his satisfaction that Simon's essay has been rejected and comments on a trip made to Florida.
