Scope and Content

Letter from Wallace Stevens to Paul Williams at the Cummington Press, thanking him for a musical program. Requests that no unsold copies of Three academic pieces be sent to Gotham Book Mart as their sales are so low, rather he will use them for gifts. With reply from Harry Duncan: only fifty-eight copies remain, including signed and unsigned copies. It was over a year ago that the Press sold remaining copies of books to the Gotham Book Mart with heavy discounts, in order to clear debts, and they would not do so again. Invites Stevens to an concert, dinner and speech on modern poetry by Stephen Spender to happen at the Press.
