Letter from Stevens thanking Duncan for the copies sent with ties, with due payment. Stevens points out that he will not write again until after Christmas. With Duncan's reply: he rejects Stevens' cheque as they are intended as presentation gifts. Duncan has also received correspondence from Knopf in which he thanked the Press for the copy of Three academic pieces and ordered more of their books.
