Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Alan Stoyel is a researcher and enthusiast with a wide knowledge of watermills throughout the UK. He has studied mills of certain regions where he has lived in particular detail. Alan restored his own watermill, Venn Mill at Garford, Oxfordshire, in the 1980s. He is also a Mills Archive trustee.
Access Information
The majority of Alan's collection is currently still in his possession. As a trustee of the Mills Archive, he has agreed that his collection will eventually be transferred in its entirety to the Archive. Until then access to some originals for viewing may be difficult, although higher-resolution copies of the images online here may be inspected at the Archive - please email [visitors@millsarchive.org](mailto:visitors@millsarchive.org?subject=Request%20to%20consult%20collection%20ASFC) to arrange an appointment.
