Scope and Content

The diaries describe Vera and Ted's domestic life in Ham, including their trips to the shops, gardening activities, hospital appointments, family life, and the weather.

Administrative / Biographical History

Vera Singleton was born in Brixton in 1922. She married Edward 'Ted' Williams on 3rd February 1945, and they moved into a prefab in Ham. Vera worked part-time in a local chemist shop, and Ted was a plumber. They had at least two daughters. From about 1966, the family lived at 3 Vancouver Road, Ham. Vera died on 18th April 2016.
