Administrative / Biographical History
Opened in January 1948 as a Hostel for Girls, at Castle Park House, 21 Haddon Road, Clontarf, Dublin. Originally provided accommodation for 12 girls, reduced to 9 in 1956. Although a hostel for girls, it seems that Castle Park was accepting male residents in the early 1950s. Closed in 1985.

When it is not possible to establish whether an individual has died, a closure period of 84 years (if the individual was an adult when the record was created) or 100 years (if the individual was a child when the record was created) is imposed under the Data Protection Act.
