Confirmation by Ranulf, Earl of Chester, of a grant by Alan de Tatton and Petronilla, his wife, to William son of Gerard, of lands in Saham [Saughall Massie]. 'Rann' Comes Cestr' Constabulario, Dapifero, Justiciario, Vicecomite et Omnibus Baronibus et fidelibus suis Ministris et Baillivis et Omnibus ad Quos presens Scriptum pervenerit Salutem. Sciatis me concessisse et presenti Carta mea confirmasse Willelmo filio Gerardi et heredibus suis Quattuor Bovatas terre in Saham in Wirhallia cum Omnibus pertinenciis suis et Ricardum et Siwardum qui terram illam tenuerunt cum eorum sequela tota quas Alanus de Tatton' et Petronilla uxor sua ei pro homagio suo dederunt et Carta sua confirmaverunt, faciendo predictis Alano et Petronille et eorum heredibus servicium annuum quod in eorum Cartis continetur quas ipse Willelmus de eis habere meruit.
