Scope and Content

Parties: 1) Right Hon. Lady Elizabeth Hastings, only sister of whole blood and sole heir of Right Hon. George, late Earl of Huntingdon and daughter and heiress of Right Hon. Elizabeth, Countess of Huntingdon, who was one of two daughters and co-heirs of Sir John Lewis of Ledstone, bart; 2) Hon. John Dawney esq, son & heir apparent of Henry, Lord Viscount Down, Sir John Bland of Kippax Park, bart, Sir William Lowther of Swillington, bart, George Crowle of Ferry Frystone, esq, and Richard Wilson the younger, esq, son of Richard Wilson, esq., recorder of Leeds.
Lands: Manor of Collingham (advowson of Collingham excepted) with lands in Collingham; Compton and Burton Salmon; manor of Shadwell, with lands, there; land in Wyke, Ledsham, Thorp Arch and Collingham (acreages, tenure & boundaries given).
Term: Lands in Thorp Arch, Wyke, Collingham, Compton & Ledsham used as charity schools to continue as such, with provision for dwellings of masters and mistresses. Any surplus to be applied according to terms specified in deed (detailed provisions given; includes rules for schools and management of estate).
