Scope and Content

Lacquer chest containing three sets of Burmese Kammavaca or Buddhist manuscripts and wooden cover boards, the largest 14 x 61 x 4cm. The square script lacquered in the 'tamarind seed' style relates to ordination, donations, consecration of a new building or curing sickness.

Manuscript is fragile. Requests to consult the original manuscript should be emailed to docenquiry@soas.ac.uk and marked for the attention of the Head of Special Collections and Archives
