Thanks FH for giving a 'stimulating' talk on 12 Jan. The audience was 'three times as large' as the biggest audience that Sharp had previously seen, and 'at least twenty times larger' than the average. The lecture provided 'much food for thought', Was 'very struck' by the way the slow variation of G, 'of seemingly only intellectual interest' was 'connected with such close-to-home items as fossils and the climate'.
