Pamphlet entitled Day Clubs for Men and Boys; AnExperiment and an Appeal for Volunteers. Gives a detailed description of the work done toprovide occupation and skills to unemployed men and boys. The scheme was funded by the PilgrimTrust, and went by the name of the Pilgrim Club. The introduction to the pamphlet describes thesevere unemployment of the period and the despondency caused by this. It outlines the aim of theSettlement to provide recreational and occupational activities to counteract this. The main body ofthe pamphlet concerns the occupational and recreational activities provided, for both the men's andthe boys' centres. It also gives a description of how the centre is organised, namely for the men bya self elected Committee. The leaflet appeals to other areas of Manchester to start up similarinitiatives.
