The Beswick & Bradford Community Project (BCCP) was started in 1992 by the ManchesterUniversity Settlement. The BCCP worked in partnership with the MUS, and was funded by the CityCouncil. Run by local people, out of Aidan's in Bosworth Street, BCCP aimed to promote and developactivities which would benefit and enable the communities of Bradford and Beswick. BCCP programmeareas included the Bradford and Beswick Community Fund (established in 1995 with the aid of aMonument Trust grant), women’s health, training and support for those with mental healthproblems, the Fresh Food Co-operative, welfare rights advice, crèche facilities, a Somaliwoman’s group, NVQ training, yoga, and outward bound activities for young people.
The reports list staff, volunteers, Committee Members and funders, as well as those groups fundedby the Bradford and Beswick Community Fund. There are reports on each of the programme areas.Financial information does not start to appear until the 1999 Annual review. Reports for the years1995 and 2000 are wanting.
