The Story of Trekking

Scope and Content

The Story of Trekking comprises of a 36 page booklet that depicts the historic journey of Trekking the Gospel.

Between 1925 & 1936 the 'Trekkers' became a familiar sight on Britain's country roads and city streets. Teams of young men wearing grey shirts, blue knickerbockers (baggy knee-britches), grey stockings, brown boots, distinctive ties, & an identifying badge with the words "Aflame for God" pulled a two-wheeled cart, a miniature covered wagon, containing sleeping bags, cooking utensils, essential personal items & necessities for the conducting of services in churches and the open-air. Maynard James, a forerunner of Trekking, adopted the concept as an effective means for evangelism within the Calvary Holiness Church.
