Restaurants and dining halls

Scope and Content

This file contains six photographs of co-operative dining halls and restaurants. Photograph one shows tables set up for what seems to be a musical performance in a dining hall. There is a stage bearing a piano and drum kit at the far end of the hall, and the tables are laid with bags of sweets, bottles of Vivi Kola, and photographs of a trumpeter, possibly Louis Armstrong. There is a catwalk running from the stage, through the middle of the hall, cutting through the table arrangements. Photograph two shows people dining in a restaurant, annotated on verso "Bury Society Restaurant", black and white. Photograph three shows people dining in a restaurant, annotated on verso "Restaurant at the R.A.C.S. [Royal Arsenal Co-operative Society] Woolwich". Copyright Reynolds News, black and white.
