Scope and Content

This file contains three photographs of Edinburgh. Photograph one is taken from a hill overlooking the city, and shows many prominent landmarks. Annotated on verso, "Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. The city skyline as seen from St. Anthony"s Chapel in Queens Park. From left to right can be seen, Castle, Tolbooth church, St. Gile"s Cathedral, Tron Church, Corstorphine Hill, Scott Monument, Waverley Station, Hotel, St. Andrew"s House, Royal High School, Calton Hill, with Nelson"s Column & National Monument, and Regents Terrace. Below the later lies the Palace of Holyroodhouse." Photograph two shows more landmarks, this time from a different perspective. Annotated on verso, "A fine view of Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, as seen from Nelson"s Column on Carlton Hill. On the left can be seen the palace of Holyroodhouse, with Burn"s Monument and part of the Royal High School in the foreground. Beyond is Queens Park, with Arthurs Seat rising above the cliffs of Salisbury Crags." Photograph three shows Edinburgh castle, taken from the foot of the hill. Black and white.
