Miscellaneous personal and estate papers and correspondence relating to the families of Kerr and Anderson 1821-1901; volume containing miscellaneous papers relating to the Grange estate 1875-1901.

Administrative / Biographical History

Grange, near Monifieth, was the ancient seat of the Durhams. By 1771 the estate was owned by Charles Hunter Esquire. It was later owned by Thomas Kerr, and when he died, in 1879, the estate passed to Alexander Anderson Esq.
