Letters

Scope and Content

From Geoffrey Baskerville (1870-1944), historian and fellow of Keble College, Oxford.

20/1 asks for advice on his research, looking into Carl Horstmann Nova legenda Anglie [1901?] and his views on the sequence of the St. Alban's Chronicles, John Tynemouth's [14th century chronicler], Historia aurea, and certain letters to the Black Prince, and queries whether one of these letters has been published.

20/2 is a response to Tait's reply to the first letter; comments on the work of John Tynemouth and discusses his work on a collation of manuscripts at Lambeth [Palace] and Bodley [Bodleian Library], relating to reigns of Edward II and III.
