Administrative / Biographical History

Chili and Peter de Greef met whilst performing in a play at Dean Street, London. Peter had been educated at Sherborne and then went to Naval College at Dartmouth. He worked as a rear gunner in the RAF but was subsequently court-martialled and dismissed for being AWOL and bouncing cheques.

In 1944, Peter appeared in Champagne Charlie with Tommy Trinder and Stanley Holloway.

Peter and Chili bought a house together in South Kensington and were married 05/04/1946 when Chili was 36. Within a few months they separated and Chili moved into her own flat in Dolphin Square.
