Scope and Content

Records from Caernarvon Liberal Club, Caernarfon, 1782-1951, comprising Caernarvon Liberal Club records, 1888-1951, and other political records, [1883]-[1935]; and records and papers not relating to politics, including maritime records relating mainly to 'Sybil Wynne', [c. 1815]-1889; records of Thomas and Edwards Mineral Water Co., 1887-[1933]; religious music and lyrics collected for the pamphlet 'Tonau a gynnigwyd' (1983), 1869-1893; and miscellaneous papers, 1782-1934.

Administrative / Biographical History

Caernarfon Liberal Club was established by 1888, in Caernarfon, Caernarfonshire. In addition to maintaining its own records, it collected material relating to local politics, and also accumulated papers of D. T. Edwards, innkeeper, of Drum Inn, Caernarfon, owner of the brig 'Sybil Wynne', lost off Andglass, Ireland, in 1884. Castle Mineral Water Works, was situated at Balaclava Road, Caernarfon, operated by D. O. Edwards for Thomas and Edwards Mineral Water Company.
