Administrative / Biographical History
The Carronbridge Co-operative Society was founded in 1880 with a branch in and within 7 years the Society had attracted nearly 200 members. By 1928 it was providing its members with products including groceries, drapery, hardware and shoes.
In 1930, the Society was amalgamated into the larger Dumfries and Maxwelltown Co-operative Society.
