The letter is an acceptance to visit Mrs Hughes on Sun when she will have many questions to ask about the children. Hill discusses how the children are progressing with their lessons and mentions her own daughter [?Jenny] in this capacity. Hill writes of her belief that it is a sad loss to grow up without a love for learning and discusses her view of childhood education. She goes on to say that she has created a book so that Jack [James] can write how many pages he reads in a day. Carrie [Caroline] Hill writes, "has become very dear ..sweet sensitiveness". Hill discusses how such "beauty of nature wants careful treatment".
