Julian Fave to Mrs Hughes, Paris, Sep 1866

Scope and Content

The letter refers to May [probably Mary Hughes, Thomas Hughes daughter] having been rightly annoyed at him and asks his apologies to be passed to her. He writes he is glad Mrs and Mr Hughes have so high an opinion of Alice [possibly Alice Hughes, the daughter/granddaughter of Thomas Hughes's uncle Tom]. He refers to his marriage at the end of the month when he returns to England, Mary Hughes does not have appeared to have married and so this is presumably to Alice.
