The letter discusses the possibility of Hughes being offered a position [he does not specify as what] and how he may not accept. Hughes writes that he is now presiding for the Bishop [of Durham, Congress President] whose address was very successful. Hughes comments that the advance and solidifying of the movement [co-operation] is marvellous, he hopes that now "the Church is openly taking it up" progress will be sounder and faster in the future. Hughes refers to having to go to Congleton on the 19 May to lay the foundation stone for "a great Cooperative store"
