Letter from Gertrude Jekyll to Mrs Brand [Amy Barnes Brand]

Scope and Content

Written from Munstead Wood, Godalming, [Surrey]. Manuscript

Jekyll sends her bill as requested [see JEK/2/1/34]; she is missing some paperwork (‘My drunken gardener got me into such messes with the collecting sheets’) and asks Brand if she received seven types of plant, listed in the letter, ordered on 12 May 1928; she is progressing with the plan of the stream and hillside and invites Brand to visit her next week; this week is full as she has to ‘see to everything out of doors in an interregnum of gardeners’.
