Letter from Gertrude Jekyll to Mrs Brand [Amy Barnes Brand]

Scope and Content

Written from Munstead Wood, Godalming, [Surrey]. Manuscript.

Jekyll returns the bill receipted [see JEK/2/1/14] and thanks Brand for correcting the amount charged for the plans; the dahlias and snapdragons will be sent at the end of the month; she cannot advise about the dwarf water lily as the only very small one she knows of is Helvola [Nymphaea tetragona ‘Helvola’] which which is yellow or white, and she refers Brand to Amos Perry at Hardy Plant Farm, Enfield, Middlesex, who she thinks is the best grower; she wishes Brand could see her special strain of primroses which are at their best.
