Letter from Gertrude Jekyll to Mrs Brand [Amy Barnes Brand]

Scope and Content

Written from Munstead Wood, Godalming, [Surrey]. Manuscript

Jekyll has pleasant memories of Mrs Brands visit to Munstead Wood with Mr Oliver Hill; the description of Brands house and ground had already inspired in her a wish to be involved there and she is pleased to be supplying a spring garden plan; she requests further details of the garden as it is; she offers to supply plants at a better price and of better quality than offered by the nurseries; she hopes the spring garden will be a spring garden only and suggests space is left behind the back of the border for access; her fee for the plan will be four guineas.
