The collection includes letters written by prominent medical figures, mostly from the nineteenth century. A large proportion appear to have been sent to Ernest Abraham Hart (1865-1898). Medical journalist. Some of the items have been mounted on paper, possibly once forming part of a scrapbook which included biographical details for the individuals. Some have annotations in pencil or pen identifying the author or recipient. In addition to the correspondence are other documents such as prescriptions, cuttings from publications and an indenture.

Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The letters and documents within this series were acquired by Pybus in the course of his collecting, and donated to the University with his collection of medical books in 1965
Arrangement
The series has been arranged alphabetically by author (or where no clear author is present, either the first mentioned author or the clear subject of the document). This reflects the arrangement in the original Pybus catalogue.
