Vaginal deodorants campaign

Scope and Content

Women in Media, co-ordinated by Sandra Brown, campaigned in Jun / Jul 1972 to ban advertising of vaginal deodorants on commercial television and, in particular, campaigned against Femfresh ads. In Nov 1972 the Independent Broadcasting Authority rethought its code of advertising and prohibited several advertising categories including vaginal sprays and tampons
