Alderman Daviess Charity. In 1719 Alderman John Davies, former portreeve, or mayor, of the town of Neath, provided £200 in his will for the provision of education for poor children in Neath. This would eventually lead to the opening in 1858 in Neath of the school named after him.NAS Z 16/3/hub

Neath Town Hall. Neaths Guildhall was in the centre of Old Market Street (formerly High Street, originally Neaths principal street). The Corporation of Neath, reflecting the general feeling that the growing communitys needs would be better served by a more suitable building, commissioned the construction of a new town hall, the foundation stone of which was laid in 1820. Neath Town Hall was completed in 1821.NAS Z 16/5/hub

Ernest J Rollings MC, soldier and policeman. Ernest James Rollings MC served with the Royal Tank Corps in the First World War. During the summer of 1918 he gathered important documents from the German headquarters at Framerville, northern France. This action was credited with securing a swifter end to the conflict than would otherwise have been the case. Having joined the Glamorgan Constabulary in 1913, he was a policeman in Neath after the War and died in 1966, aged 73. He was presented with the freedom of the borough of Neath on 20 January 1932.NAS Z 16/7/hub

The decision to form a municipal choir and orchestra was taken at a meeting of the Neath borough music committee on 16 November 1942.
