Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Rigby he is sending, by bus, a parcel of books for Dr Ashburner. Owen wishes Rigby to take the parcel and three copies of the Millennial Gazette to him. Owen gives Rigy details of the bound copies of [the Millennial Gazette] that he has ordered from Mr Cotter.

Owen goes on to say he is awaiting Rigby’s report of his visit to the Archbishp of Canterbury and to Monsieur Claudet [photographer].

Owen closes the letter by telling Rigby he intends to establish a life and death society, which he will tell Rigby about later.
