Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter which Owen begins by saying he received Rigby’s letter and the placard and that he wants the advertisement he last sent to Dr Travis to appear in Wednesday’s Times.

Owen says he will leave the next day at 4 for Cox’s Hotel in London and makes arrangements for meeting Rigby. Owen says he is almost certain he will go to the poles and asks that Cotter makes 1,2 or 300 placards. Owen goes on to outline the text required for the placards.

Owen ends the letter by giving Rigby amendments for the advertisement regarding his next meeting. The letter is incomplete and appears to have the last page missing.
