Letter from John Howard Nodal to James Rigby

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter John Howard Nodal exclaims his pleasure to James Rigby over the copy of the Transactions. He is particularly impressed with the Committee of Management and the breadth of information and excellent arrangement of the publication. He feels these publications will be the best way to publicise the practice of co-operation, especially since the discontinuance of the Journal of Association.

Nodal requests the address of a Mr. A Bromiley of Bolton, as well as that of any other member of the League in the district.

He also requests that Edward Vansittart Neale tell him the probable cost of Friendly Associations under new legislation (likely referring to the Industrial and Provident Societies Partnership Act 1852), as associations in Manchester have been asking for the information.
