Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Robert Owen asks James Rigby to send him a copy of the Proclamations so that he can distribute it to his current neighbourhood. He further asks Rigby to stop with current advertisement [presumably for a meeting] for Owen will prepare one for the new May meeting.

He requests that Rigby sends Mr Robert Cooper proofs of the last 3 editions of the report for him to study and a copy of the Proclamations also.

Owen then requests that 300 of the first and second parts of the New Existence of Man on Earth are sent to a Mr Cotter, and also to to send him the same number of the introduction to the 3rd edition of the report. He further intends to send copies of the report to interested parties in America.

He wishes for Rigby to send copies of the 6 numbers of the New Existence of Man on Earth, the Proclamation, and the 3rd edition of the report on the meeting to Baron Rothschild.

Finally, he shares commiserations over the misfortunes of mutual friends.
