Letter from John Clement Pare to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter which Pare begins by informing Rigby that he doesn’t wish to return to Harmony Hall as he has grown a dislike for the country side. Pare goes on to say that whilst he has been in town he has had a great deal of business to attend to in particularly with the railway. Pare says his father has just left for Birmingham on the Shrewsbury and Birmingham line and that he [J C Pare] will soon be going to Scotland on the Caledonian line. Pare closes the letter by asking Rigby of his opinion of the changes made at Congress and what difference it makes to Queenwood.
