Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter concerning the final arrangements before Owen's Congress on 13th May. Owen opens the letter by saying: Had I possessed a remarkable supply of coals I would on the coming occassion give the old system its final death blow.

Owen goes on to say that a clever secretary and a good reporter would be useful to them but their printed address to be sent to the daily papers will be sufficient.

Owen concludes by giving Rigby ddetailsof his travel arrangements for his trip to London.
