Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Rigby he is going to send copies of his manuscript to Dr Travis to give to Mr Cotter who he wishes to print them in the Gazette and also write a petition, address and memorial for presentation.

The letter is written on the reverse side of a letter to Owen form Mr Allhusen. Owen asks Rigby to meet with Allhusen, as his representative, as he know more about the working classes of England than anyone he is likely to meet.

The letter from Allhusen concerns him wanting to arrange a meeting with Owen. Allhusen says that he is to change his approach and rather than applying to the powers in command he is going to appeal to the working classes.
